Description:

* Contact his foster home at XXXX@gmail.com or text or leave a message at 573-512-XXXX.*Sweet Casey had a rough start, he was found hit by a car at about 4 months old but was not taken for any medical care so the break in his back left leg healed best it could. He does not seem to be in pain when he runs or walks and his leg will always be crooked. Vet said reconstructive surgery is an option, but he would probably not be able to bend the leg anymore and no guarantee of making it better. Only concern is that the knot hits his other leg when he runs and because it is only protected by skin needs to be watched so it does not open and allow infection. Amputation is another option if starts to have issues, but he has been just fine. He is a wonderful, happy boy. He is housebroke with full-time access to doggie doors. He sleeps in a crate at night if needed. He enjoys the other dogs and plays most all day with a couple of the younger dogs and would do well with a canine companion. Not sure how he is with cats, but when on leash by the cats after his initial excitement and smelling he basically ignores them. Not sure on his breed, he's super sweet, attentive, seems as if he would be easy to train. He does kind of get excited and rush to meet new dogs but not in an aggressive way, he just wants to know what's going on around him. Just a guess on his breed mix but his easy to maintain coat is more like a beagle or hound, his colors almost like a Pyrenees, and trainability maybe like a lab?? His estimated DOB is July 2022 and weighs about 55 lb.Adopter can receive a 1-hour free training session from Let's Get Pawsitive LLC.Contact this animal's foster home at XXXX@gmail.com or text or leave a message at 573-512-XXXX. The adoption donation of $150 covers spay / neuter, vaccinations, microchip with lifetime registration, deworming, negative heartworm test, and current monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Request an application or download it from our main Petfinder page www.petfinder.com/shelters/MO529.html. Once completed, send to SaveMeAdoptMe@gmail.comAdoption processYou may be surprised to find that adopting a pet is a more involved process than you'd imagined. Our intent is not to frustrate you. Rather, everything we do is in the best interest of the pets in our care. Our goal is to help you find your perfect match, and to give them the best possible chance of finding a permanent, safe and loving home that meets their individual needs. Before meeting our pets you will need to fill out an adoption application and submit it. The questions on the application help us match your needs with the needs of our available pet. Our application includes questions about your living situation, pet history, current pets, the type of pet you are looking for and the way in which it will be cared for. We're not just being nosy! Some of our dogs and cats would be good with kids, or get along with other pets or are appropriate for first time pet owners. We also have pets with special needs, or behavioral issues, or who would be more appropriate for an experienced pet owner. We do reserve the right to refuse adoption. If your application for the adoption of a pet is not approved, we will do our best to explain the reason(s). A denial is not a rejection of you as a person; it is a refusal to place a pet in a situation that we do not feel is a good match or does not meet our policies. Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors. A member of our adoption's team will contact you and can answer questions and set up an appointment if we think the pet is a good match for you. At our facility, we have an outside fenced area where you can visit and play with the dogs you are interested in. Most of our cats roam free in our cat room, which is a great environment for you to get to know them and their personalities. We generally do not do same day adoptions. We want to give you some time to think about it - it's a big commitment. This also gives us time to do any vet checks, home checks, background checks and complete the adoption paperwork. You can generally pick up your pet the following day or arrange for another day that would be convenient for you and gives us enough time to complete any requirements. We offer a 7 day trial with your new pet, You will be required to put the adoption fee down, take your new pet home. Around day 3 we will call to see how things are going. if there are issues, a member of our team (usually our dog trainer) can come and work with you. On day 7, or before, if your new pet is a perfect fit, we will finalize your adoption. if not you can bring the pet back , try another pet or get your money back. Once you adopt a pet from us, we encourage you to keep in touch! Please call us for advice if you are having any problems or have questions. Many times a small problem can be fixed before it becomes a bigger problem. And we love to get emails, letters and photos from people who have adopted a pet from us.Shelter locationThe Adoption Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10-4
